County winter shelter contract with Road2Home

What happened: The Finance and Administration Committee of the Whatcom County Council approved a Road2Home contract for a winter overnight shelter in Bellingham on Oct. 13. The County reimburses up to $585,000 (recording fees and HB 1590 sales tax). 60 beds (plus up to 10 in severe weather), 7 p.m. to 8 a.m., lower level of 925 N. Forest St., nightly December through at least February.
