In the candidates' own words, exactly as they submitted them to the voters' pamphlet. Neither the County, the state nor The Tally checks them for spelling, grammar or accuracy.

I’ve taught at a preschool, served as WWU’s Assistant Director of Government Relations, and worked in the Governor’s Office to connect citizens, small businesses, tribes, and local governments with state resources. My wife Heather and I live in Bellingham with our son, Malcolm.

Community Service
Board Member, Washington State Leadership Board; Former Board Member: Bellingham Food Bank, Children’s Campaign Fund, City of Bellingham’s Community Development Advisory Board.
Statement
My family feels the impact of rising costs just like you do. That’s why as your state representative, I’ve worked hard to lower costs for seniors, improve public safety and increase access to education, housing, and healthcare. I’ve supported small businesses so they can create living wage jobs in our community. Each legislative session, I’ve helped secure millions in state funding for local projects including flood protection, community centers, and an emergency response facility. Endorsements include Washington State Labor Council; Washington Education Association; Local Firefighters IAFF 106; Lummi Nation Chairman Anthony Hillaire; Governor Bob Ferguson; Whatcom County Sheriff Donnell Tanksley.
First-time candidate for public office. Previously served as elected vice president and president of a law enforcement guild. Served on professional boards.
Other Professional Experience
Small business owner. More than 23 years of military service. Senior leadership roles training and mentoring soldiers. Seventeen years in law enforcement working with families in crisis and seeing firsthand how untreated mental illness and addiction impact public safety.
Education
Graduated from Ferndale High School. Professional development through military leadership and professional education.
Community Service
Youth sports coach in Ferndale. Volunteer board member. Helped rebuild community baseball fields. Supported officers, families and the Whatcom County community through my guild’s benevolent committees.
Statement
Families are being priced out of Whatcom County. Seniors are choosing between prescriptions and groceries, and young families wonder whether they can still afford to build their future here. My family has lived here for generations, so these challenges are deeply personal.
After nearly two decades in law enforcement, often sitting at kitchen tables on people’s hardest days, I have learned that people come before politics. I am running to lower living costs, strengthen public safety by addressing the behavioral health crisis, and bring accountability and transparency to state government. With your vote I’ll tackle these challenges head on.
